Plus, all the cool techniques in MAX mode for each character, there's a ton of experimentation to try out. Rock, all the Ikari Warriors, Oswald, Yamazaki, Vanessa and Tizoc all in the same game, plus a bunch of fantastic newcomers like Kukri, Shun'Ei and Xanadu make it a blast just messing around with all the team combinations even if you never touch the online. KOF XIV is my second favorite, because even if the graphics aren't as good as most 'modern' fighting game titles, the roster is one of SNK's best ever. Gameplay holds up pretty well today, too. Big, Rugal, Omega Rugal, Goenitz, Orochi, fireball and rekka Kyo, Real Bout versions of Blue Mary and Billy, fun times all around. The New Faces team, Orochi New Faces, Geese, Krauser, Mr. '98 Ultimate Match is my favorite KOF game purely for the reason that it has the most 'boss' and alternate characters playable in the series, even if Geese doesn't have 'real' Reppukens.
